Description
The KIDDE PEGAsys™ is a microprocessor based Fire suppression control system designed for use with the exclusive SmartOne™ series of Intelligent detectors and Loop Devices. The PEGAsys system operates within a unique "Distributed Intelligence" architecture which as it sounds, distributes the processing power throughout all system components. This "Smart" architecture which has a microprocessor, memory and software in each system component brings major increases in system precision and reliability when compared to other fire alarm system architectures.

The KIDDE PEGAsys™ features the exclusive BIP (Broadcast Indexing Protocol) for loop device communications which has a high immunity to EMI and RFI. As a result, up to 255 SmartOne™ Intelligent loop devices can be connected to the single, two wire communication loop. Because the loop controller supervises each smart device through communication with each individual device, the field wiring can be "T" tapped or branched as often as sound installation techniques allow. The BIP protocol is so robust that in retrofit installations the existing detection loop wiring can be reused thus reducing system installation costs.

ALL OF THE 255 ADDRESSABLE INPUT / OUTPUT DEVICES CAN BE IN ALARM AND OPERATED AT THE SAME TIME. Because of this critical feature, even a fire event which involves a large number of detectors can be reported and logged by the system.

ANALASER
Air Sampling Smoke Detection

Advanced Technology High-Sensitivity Smoke Detection Is Essential:
  • WHERE EARLY WARNING IS CRITICAL TO PROTECT HIGH VALUE ASSETS
  • Telecommunications
  • Computer Rooms
  • Anechoic Chambers
  • Museums
  • Electronic Manufacturing

Today's sophisticated telecommunications, computer, and business systems are so vital that even a minor interruption in their operation, or loss of data, could create serious or even crippling financial losses or life safety dangers. The electronic hardware found in such installations is highly vulnerable to fire and can be seriously affected by increases in temperature of contamination from smoke or corrosive gasses. In these and other areas such as museums, electronic manufacturing facilities, or anechoic chambers where high-value property is present, AnaLASER Advanced Technology Smoke Detection provides the early warning that can spell the difference between a minor inconvenience and a major catastrophe.

  • WHERE CONVENTIONAL DETECTORS WON'T WORK PROPERLY
  • Clean Rooms
  • Atriums
  • High-Bay Warehouses
  • Nuclear Facilities
  • Correctional Facilities

In order for a smoke detector to work properly, smoke in a concentration sufficient to trigger an alarm must get to the detector.

In many cases, this may take so long and involve a fire of such magnitude that conventional detectors are virtually useless. High-bay warehouses, where detectors are physically far removed from sources of combustion, clean rooms with laminar airflow and rapid air changes that dilute smoke, atriums, and other areas where conventional detectors may be rendered inoperable by damage or vandalism, require the high-sensitivity and active air sampling of AnaLASER Advanced Technology Smoke Detection.

Up to 1000x more sensitive than conventional Smoke Detectors

Alarmline
Linear Heat Detection System

Description
The Kidde-Fenwal Alarmline System detects fires and overheating situations in all types of dusty, hazardous, vibrating or inaccessible applications. Wherever rugged detectors are required to stand up to the rigors of the industrial plant, an Alarmline System is the most cost-effective way to protect valuable equipment and processes against fire. Easy-to-install sensor cable--placed throughout the hazard area and connected to an interface module--provides rapid response to both localized fire situations and wide area overheating.

OPERATION:
An increase in temperature lowers the resistance of the Sensor Cable conductors. The change is monitored by the Interface Module. At a predetermined temperature level, the Module signals a Kidde-Fenwal Fire Control Panel to sound an alarm and perform specified functions such as activating the fire suppression system and shutting down power to the protected area.

CABLE:
PVC-coated cable containing four 26 AWG copper conductors, each color-coded in an insulated sheath of negative temperature coefficient polymer. Tensile strength of 24.8 lbs. Available in standard lengths of 656 ft. (200m). Optional cables includes nylon-coated (tensile strength of 24.8 lbs.) and bronze braided (tensile strength of 248 lbs.).

Operating Temperature:
-15°F to +165°F
