DESCRIPTION

The KIDDE KVS dry chemical system utilizes monoammonium phosphate dry chemical, a multi-purpose dry chemical rated fro class A, B, and C type fires. The chemical is non-conductive and gives fast flame knockdown. The cylinders are welded, US DOT 4BW-360, mild-steel shell. The system employs stored pressure, at 360 PSIG, keeping the dry chemical agent free from contamination.
The KVS dry chemical system is available with three cylinder sizes: KVS-21, with four nozzles; KVS-45 with six or eight nozzles and KVS-68 with eight nozzles, providing an extended discharge time. This extended discharge time can be especially important in machinery where high-pressure hydraulics can cause a reflash due to source of ignition.

Areas where fires can occur include:

  • Engine Compartment
    • Fuel Tanks and Lines
    • Hydraulic Reservoirs
    • Lines and Accumulators
  • Heaters
  • Transmissions
  • Battery Compartment
  • Electrical Distribution and Raceways
