| The KIDDE
PEGAsys is a microprocessor based
Fire suppression control system designed for use with the exclusive
SmartOne series of Intelligent detectors
and Loop Devices. The PEGAsys system operates
within a unique "Distributed Intelligence" architecture
which as it sounds, distributes the processing power throughout
all system components. This "Smart" architecture which
has a microprocessor, memory and software in each system component
brings major increases in system precision and reliability when
compared to other fire alarm system architectures.
The KIDDE PEGAsys
features the exclusive BIP (Broadcast Indexing Protocol)
for loop device communications which has a high immunity to EMI
and RFI. As a result, up to 255 SmartOne Intelligent
loop devices can be connected to the single, two wire communication
loop. Because the loop controller supervises each smart device
through communication with each individual device, the field wiring
can be "T" tapped or branched as often as sound installation
techniques allow. The BIP protocol is so robust that in retrofit
installations the existing detection loop wiring can be reused
thus reducing system installation costs.
ALL OF THE 255 ADDRESSABLE
INPUT / OUTPUT DEVICES CAN BE IN ALARM AND OPERATED AT THE SAME
TIME. Because of this critical feature, even a fire event
which involves a large number of detectors can be reported and
logged by the system.
